our story

When our dad, Godfrey, died very suddenly in 2020 we felt as though our world had been ripped apart.

He was 55 and we just couldn’t make sense of it. We knew something positive needed to come from our tragedy.

Godfrey had a difficult start in life. Things were complicated and a mixture of poverty and circumstance led to him spending much of his childhood separated from his siblings and his parents. Dad fought against his early disadvantage to become the person that so many knew and loved - lots of children are unable to do this without some extra support. We have established Godfrey’s Trust to be a small cog in providing that help.

Dad used to tell a childhood story about a kind neighbour. When he was waiting outside for someone to get home she would bring him toast and marmalade. This small gesture still touched him as an adult.

We aim to make a lasting impact on young lives - to bring some joy and make a difference.
